Once upon a time, Kim Kardashian visited Paris with her sisters for the Fashion Week, and ended up getting robbed of $10 million in cash and jewellery. She was found in her bathroom, tied up and gagged, while the people who robbed her took off with the belongings.
Now, a French filmmaker named Joann Sfar is going to make a movie based on the incident. He says it will be a comedy film.
Timeline of how Kim Kardashian ended up losing $10 million
Before reaching Paris Fashion Week, Kim Kardashian posted a picture of her Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring worth $4.5 million on Instagram. Apparently, this particular post was helpful for the people who robbed her, they were able to know where she’d be on a particular time and what jewellery she would have on her person.
They entered her hotel room, disguised as policemen, pointed guns to her head, and took away what they could – a $4.5 million ring, and a $5.6 million jewellery box.
Kim was found later in her bathtub, with her hands tied up and mouth taped, while she was dressed in a bathrobe. Her bodyguard was absent during the incident.
How did she recover her $10 million
While the French police arrested one of the people who had robbed Kim Kardashian, only one item of jewellery was retrieved while others still remain missing.
Meanwhile, she narrated the story on her reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Considering that Kim gets paid $1 million per episode for Keeping Up with the Kardashians, so it was only a matter of a single season for her. The show already has 15 seasons and more than 100 episodes. She milked the incident of losing $10 million to full, with on-cue tears and fabricated grief.
While $10 million might seem like a large amount to majority of Earth population, Kim earns an annual $100 million just from the sales of her brand, and her endorsements and other activities bring in several million more.
Director says the film will be about “Feminism” and “End of Patriarchy”
The director Joann Sfar has said it will be a comedy film, and the title is supposed to be “Fashion Week”. According to Sfar, the film will address “violence against women, the relationship between the very rich people and the less rich, the world of fashion and the encounter between figures of new and old worlds’.
Not that Kim Kardashian was ever a feminist icon, considering she married the Kanye West, the self-proclaimed greatest human artist of all time, who once defended the sexual assaulter Bill Cosby and called him innocent. Every other activity of Kardashians stand as a stark antithesis of everything feminism stands for.
Speaking of violence against women, nearly 40% women in the western countries and 60% women in the eastern countries are assaulted physically and sexually by their husbands/boyfriends. The real number could be even higher, but Sfar chose to address the “tragedy” of a billionaire woman losing a meager $10 million in a “robbery” out of which she came out without a single injury.
Also, how is feminism and patriarchy involved in this event of rich people losing money, is anybody’s guess.
