Amanda Coley and sister Maggie Kingston have always been huge fans of Backstreet Boys. The duo were looking forward to attending the hit boy bands concert this August. They’ve been planning for this since last Christmas.

Alas, life had other plans. Amanda was diagnosed with Cancer( Leukemia) on August 1,2019. The concert being on August 21,2019; Coley’s dreams of watching her favourite band live seemed like it was over.

As tragic as this seemed, Coley didn’t want to hold her sister from going to the concert. She asked Kingston to not miss out on the show because of her. To which her sister Maggie Kingston didn’t agree. She stayed back and missed the show saying, she’s not going to go there without Coley.

We found out about three weeks ago that [Coley] had leukemia,” Kingston, 25, tells PEOPLE of her sister. “She was like, ‘So I can’t go to the Backstreet Boys concert?’ That was the first thing she said. She was crying. Both of us are huge fans. She told me I should go. But I said, ‘I’m not gonna go if you don’t go!’ – as reported by PEOPLE.

And Here’s What Nick Carter Did When He Got To Know!

Kingston wasn’t willing to let this pass easy. She teamed up with Amanda’s friend, Celena Townsend and planned a special surprise Backstreet Boys themed party, to throw in Amanda’s room at the Northside Center in Atlanta.

To make this even more beautiful, the hospital staff and nurses joined in! They surprised Amanda by singing three hit songs by Backstreet Boys and literally just made her cry with happiness.

While Maggie Kingston didn’t expect this small gesture to make it to big news, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter got a whiff of this and was pretty quick to respond.

Well, Coley was obviously elated with this. From not being able to go to the live concert to getting a personal tweet from one of the very members of her favorite band.

Amanda is such a huge fan of the hit boy band that when she first got diagnosed with Cancer, the first words from her mouth were, those of regret on not being able to see the band live.

Kingston originally didn’t expect the nurses to participate in this surprise party, but when the time came, they actually danced and sang songs while clapping in Amanda’s room!

“I was crying! It was really emotional. We didn’t expect it. We were just in awe,” Kingston says. “Amanda danced with them! She was in heaven. She said it was really cool and emotional. She shed a couple happy tears.”- Kingston to PEOPLE.
