Why Is Kedar Jadhav In The Team – Angry Fans After CSK Lost The Easy Win

During the 21st match of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings in Abu Dhabi, Kolkata Knight Riders beat Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs to reach the third position on the points table.

Chasing a 168-run target, Super Kings were leading in the chase for the first half of their innings. Needing only 69 runs to win from eight overs with nine wickets in hand, CSK would have fancied winning the match on nine out of 10 occasions generally.

Kedar Jadhav found himself in a tough spot in the game on Wednesday, having to come in at the 17th over when MS Dhoni departed after yet another slow knock. Shane Watson (50) and Ambati Rayudu (30) got off the team to a good start after an in-form Faf Du Plessis departed for just 17 runs. Kedar Jadhav struggled majorly to score 7* (12) when his team needed to score 39 runs in 21 balls. However, Chennai witnessed the same collapse felt by Kolkata in the last four overs of their innings with the latter’s bowlers completely choking the new batsmen at the crease, snatching a win right under Chennai’s nose.

Having scored 58 runs at an average and strike rate of 19.33 and 98.30 respectively in four IPL 2020 innings so far, Jadhav has found it difficult to get going throughout the tournament.

Jadhav, who joined CSK in 2018 after stints with Delhi Capitals (twice), Kochi Tuskers Kerala, and Royal Challengers Bangalore, has scored 237 runs in 16 innings at a terrible average and strike rate of 19.75 and 99.58. The 35-year old player has been receiving severe criticism from CSK’s fans for his unsatisfactory performance.

Kedar Jadhav Earned The wrath Of The Chennai Fans After He Took WayToo Long To Get Going Which Eventually Costed Dhoni’s Men The Game

Distraught Chennai fans demanded all-rounder Kedar Jadhav to be named as the Man of the Match after he single-handedly guided Kolkata to a win – thanks to his ‘Test knock’ in the penultimate over of an ‘easily-winnable’ T20 game.

Taking an over to get off the mark, Kedar Jadhav shocked many after he refused a single off the first delivery of the last over even as surreal pressure mounted on Chennai. It became worse for the fans after Jadeja hammered three back-to-back boundaries to finish the game.
