GOOD NEWS! From today onwards, every American adult is eligible to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine.
As per the deadline set by President Joe Biden, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Oregon were among a few states opening the vaccine availability to every adult on Monday. So now Mr. Biden aims to persuade people to go and get vaccinated.
“Folks, I have good news,” Biden said in a video posted on Twitter. “Everybody is eligible as of today to get the vaccine. We have enough of it, you need to be protected, and you need in turn to protect your neighbors and your family.
“So please get the vaccine.”
In all the 50 states and Puerto Rico, adults over 16 are eligible to get vaccinated.
As per experts, anxiety of getting a jab is quite normal and very much expected, however it can be fixed with the right education from the right people.
Dr. Gregory Poland, director of the Mayo Clinic’s Vaccine Research Group stated: “People who have questions deserve to have those questions answered. That’s fair and that’s on us.”
COVID-19 Updated Numbers
According to Johns Hopkins University data, the U.S. has more than 31.6 million confirmed Covid positive cases and 567,000 fatalities. The global totals: more than 141.1 million cases and 3 million deaths. According to the data from the CDC. About 264.5 million vaccine doses have already been distributed and out of which 209.4 million have been administered.
As per CDC data, 32% of American adult population is fully vaccinated and 50% of the adults have received at least one vaccine dose.
