The career of Ariana Grande and earning Guinness World Records titles go hand in hand.
So what’s her feat this time? Ariana got her name registered for the 20th time in Guinness World Records for having most No. 1 song debuts on the Billboard Hot 100 in history.
‘Quite an achievement’ – this is why!
Recently on their website, Guinness World Records announced that Ariana became the first ever artist to have 5 No.1 song debuts on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. So what makes it ‘quite an achievement’? As far as modern music rankings are concerned, there are only a bunch of artists with a song to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Launched in 1958, ‘The Hot 100’ is widely considered as the ultimate all-genre singles chart in the United States. However, it started integrating digital sales and YouTube data in 2005 and 2013 respectively. The involved system of methods are updated annually to reflect the prevailing listening trends around the world.
While there are over a thousand artists who enjoyed being on top of the chart, very few including “You Are Not Alone” by Michael Jackson and “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith among 46 other songs, have been able to debut in the top position. And now the 27 year-old pop icon has achieved this rare feat for the fifth time.
Grande is the only artist to have accomplished this in history
Praising the Grammy winner, they further added: “Her triumphs come off the back of the impressive strides she has made in the entertainment business, which began in her teens.”
“What makes her recent record achievement so extraordinary is that Grande is currently the only artist to have accomplished this in history”, Guinness World Records said.
