Albert Einstein once said:
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe.
We are talking about unnecessary warning signs, but think about it: once upon a time there was someone who did these stupid things, and made these signs necessary.
How many people would actually do these things if they weren’t given these warning signs?
The answer is: a lot of people. And the lesson here is: Do not underestimate the stupidity of people in large numbers, or even in small numbers. Just don’t underestimate the human potential for stupidity.
#1. It’s a sad and disturbing world where this exists
Most likely, this warning exists because there was someone who gave viagra to their newborn baby and the baby got sick, and then they sued the company. So now the company has to tell people in clear words: “Do not give viagra to your baby.”
It’s sad but people like this exist.
#2. An indictment of the American education system
It’s true that most people in America say they are “allergic” to peanuts but they don’t know what peanuts look like. Many people don’t even know where do the eggs and cheese and beef come from.
#3. Kyle meme intensifies
Kyle punched a drywall after drinking Monster Energy, but this is no drywall. People on Monster Energy or Red Bull definitely need to be told that walls are made of brick.
#4. Don’t pour hot coffee in the area of your oolala
This is obviously fake French and German, but the warning sign is legit.
There was a woman who poured hot coffee on herself, and then sued McDonalds for serving coffee that was “too hot”, and won $3 million in lawsuit.
Now warnings like this are too common.
#5. Do not swallow the coat hanger
Best part about this sign is not that they are telling you to not swallow the hanger, but this image right there:
This is how it’ll look if you swallowed the hanger. Yes, your neck will be stretched out in the front and the back.
#6. Only in America
It happens too often: pesky kids poke their fingers into fire, and their parents blame the management. Only in America.
#7. A sign Dr. Drake Ramoray could have used
In FRIENDS, Joey Tribbiani plays Dr. Drake Ramoray on Days of Our Lives, and he dies by falling down an elevator shaft.
Yes, he stepped in without making sure the elevator is there.
#8. So someone tried on the condoms in the shopping area
What other explanation is there about why this warning exists?
#9. Who needs to be told this?
Even two-year olds have more sense than some of the adults.
#10. In case you haven’t noticed, this is a “Bridge Ahead” sign
But obviously, people need to be warned about not cutting themselves on the edges of a metallic sign.
#11. Adertisement Impedimenta
How many people would think that IKEA is selling giant hot dogs for 50 cents? The same number of people who believe that Red Bull actually gives you wings.
#12. This one goes without saying. Does it really, though?
Sad, sad humanity.
