Have you ever seen those movies when a person (or persons) gets stuck in an elevator and unfortunate events follow? Then you must have definitely imagined yourselves being in a similar situation. If yes, are you prepared for it? Do you know what to do if you get stuck in an elevator?

1. Open Doors Button
This is the button you use to open the doors of the elevator like when you see someone approaching towards the elevator but then the door gets closed on their face. This is the button your press to open the doors for them.
2. Close Doors Button
This button is used to close down the elevator doors when you get inside a lift and close the door. This is also the button your press forcefully when you see a person you are avoiding getting towards the lift. LOL!
3. Floor Numbers
This one is obvious. Press the number of the floor you want to get down on. A quick tip: if you are a woman alone in the night with a stranger in the lift who strangely looks like a psycho-killer, then press all the number. The lift will stop on every floor and the stranger danger won’t get an opportunity to strangle and rob you.
4. Elevator Call Button
This button is used to alert the authorities about any issues that you face when you are inside the elevator. Or you could use it to make a conversation with the person on the other side. But seriously, don’t do that.
5. Fan Button
It is when there are so many people in the elevator and gets hot. It is just an exhaust fan to get the hot air out and nothing like air conditioner.

What To Do If You Get Stuck In An Elevator?
1. Take A Deep Breath
There is no need to panic. It will only worsen the situation and get better of your thinking skills. It may even make your feel claustrophobic and give you a panic attack which will be hard because the medical attention would take time to reach you.
2. Press The Phone Button
Whenever the lift stops midway or faces some technical issue, then the first thing you should do is press the call button to send out an alert. Someone from the tech team will get in touch with you so that you can explain to them what issue your are facing. They will either help you fix the issue or send the technical help right away.
3. Sit Back & Relax
There are not many things to do in an elevator when you are stuck except stay calm. If you are stuck with other people, you can break the ice by striking a conversation and easing the atmosphere a bit. Some people can lose it easily You could try banging up the elevator doors to get the attention from people outside. Don’t try to force open the doors because if the elevator suddenly starts moving, you might get cushed.
