Taylor Swift has dropped her new album “Lover”, and the fans are cheering the 18 beautiful songs and an exciting little news it brings out into the world.
With the love and melody in her songs, there are also sneaky little clues about her relationship with long-time boyfriend Joe Alwyn and where it may be headed in the future.
“Lover” is significantly different from Taylor’s last album “reputation.” With the new release, Taylor has gone back to what she does best: talking, dreaming, singing about love.
Earlier today as the album was released, she wrote on her twitter:
This album is very much a celebration of love, in all its complexity, coziness, and chaos. It’s the first album of mine that I’ve ever owned, and I couldn’t be more proud. I’m so excited that #Lover is out NOW: https://t.co/t7jK7XmEqa pic.twitter.com/NMgE7LTdGZ

She even wrote in the liner notes on her album:
“The album is a love letter to love itself – all the captivating, spellbinding, maddening, devastating red, blue, gray, golden aspects of it (that’s why there are so many songs).”
“Lover” is also different in the aspect that it moves away from talking about her exes and enemies; and is just dripping with beauty and magic of love as seen in her lyrics that declare her love for long-time boyfriend Joe Alwyn:
“Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand?
With every guitar string scar on my hand
I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover
My heart’s been borrowed and yours has been blue
All’s well that ends well to end up with you
Swear to be overdramatic and true to my lover.”
Oh, and the songs keep talking about proposals and weddings, added with many, many references to the color blue – which is Taylor’s favorite way of referring to her boyfriend and his blue eyes.
And even if she is keeping her lips zipped about any formal declaration about their engagement, the new album speaks volumes about what to expect. Taylor Swift is in L-O-V-E! and her new album is just her way of telling it to the whole world.
We might have a chartbuster album on our hands and probably soon enough, the long anticipated engagement and wedding of Taylor and Joe!
The album features the previously released singles “ME!” (featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! At the Disco), “You Need to Calm Down”, “The Archer”, and “Lover.”
It also features collaborations from St. Vincent on “Cruel Summer”, and Dixie Chicks on “Soon You’ll Get Better.”
