Second wave of Coronavirus has begun rising, and it will be much worse than the first wave according to the scientists.
If history teaches us anything, the flu pandemic of 1918-1919 along with the Swine Flu outbreak of 2009, two of greatest virus outbreaks in history had a second wave which caused more damage and lasted longer than the first wave.
Why is the second wave coming? Because the corporations are getting greedy, and pushing for easing the lockdown. Some countries lifted the lockdown and have witnessed the cases rising rapidly.
Wuhan in China is having a sharp rise in infections once again
However, the most dangerous situation again comes from the city of Wuhan in China, from where the first wave of Coronavirus had started.
New clusters of cases have emerged in Wuhan, after the city removed the lockdown protocols recently.
The surprising part about the second wave of Coronavirus cases from Wuhan is this: none of the cases were imported from outside, all the fresh cases have started from within the city only.
While the initial number of these new cases is very low, compared to the daily count of USA and other western countries – it is a worrying situation since China was reporting zero new cases earlier and now they have said that cases are coming back up again.
Even though the lockdown is lifted in Wuhan, the movement is still very much restricted and safety protocols are kept at the highest priority. If cases can restarted in a city as well managed as Wuhan, one can imagine how worse the situation will be in cities of India and other backward countries if they lift the lockdown.
South Korea is suffering after they removed the lockdown
South Korea was one of the first countries to remove the lockdown restrictions, and now a new cluster of Coronavirus has popped up in the country.
Dubbed as the second wave of coronavirus, these new cases have sparked fear and even the South Korean president was terrified of this new development as he warned people to “not lower their guard regarding epidemic prevention.”
Last week, the number of new cases in China and South Korea had slowed down so much that they were getting a rare handful of cases here and there. But now the sudden explosion of new cases has people worried.
Infections in Singapore have increased by 10 times the previous number
Singapore was mildly affected till mid-April, but then they decided to lift the lockdown and the number of cases there have increased by 10 times in less than three weeks.
In Germany, the rate of infection has doubled
From the west, Germany has reported that the virus’s reproduction number has doubled ever since they eased the lockdown. This means the rate of infection spreading has doubled, which will be reflected in doubling the number of cases as soon as people start showing symptoms.
In Germany, they have decided that if any county has more than 50 new cases per 100,000 people then they’ll reintroduce lockdown in that county. While many counties were under that limit, and so they decided to lift the lockdown. Now, the number of new cases in these counties has risen over the limit again.
Only one country in the world that is almost virus-free
The lesson to be learned here is that most of the world still has a severe situation of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Only country that managed to successfully control the virus is Hong Kong, which has gone for 21 days without any new infections. And they might get declared virus-free if they managed to go for another week with zero local infections.
Who is responsible for the second wave of Coronavirus?
While wealthy company owners are getting greedy and pressuring the governments to lift the lockdown, this move could backfire as it has already started in China, Singapore, South Korea, and Germany.
USA, despite having the worst case of Coronavirus infections, is still trying to reopen even before flattening the curve.
Problem is that while most of the workers will be out in the public again, the company owners will still be isolating and keeping themselves safe, reaping profits off the labour of the common people putting their lives on the line just in order to gain some measly profit for the wealthy.
USA cannot afford to ease the lockdown, they are getting 20,000+ daily cases. Same applies to every country in the world.
