Instagram’s favourite cat with 2.4 million followers on Instagram and 3 million followers on Facebook, has died and the Internet is mourning. The cat who was named “Lil Bub” has the most incredible and inspirational story of all the cats, and her loss is making all of us sad.
Bub was rescued as a feral kitten in 2011, and she had multiple body disorders which she battled throughout her life. She even appeared on TV programs, documentaries, YouTube shows, and had her own merchandize line. She raised almost $700,000 for animal charity.

Lil Bub’s cat parent Mike Bridavsky found her as a tiny feral kitten who was suffering from dwarfism, she had bulbous eyes and a lolling tongue. Her dwarfism meant that she looked like an adorable kitten all her life.
Lil bub was also polydactyl, which means she had an extra toe on each paw. Her jaw was underdeveloped so she had no teeth, and that’s why her tongue was always hanging out.
Her death was announced by her cat parent in an emotional Instagram post
Mike Bridavsky, announced her death to millions of followers on Monday, as the comments of fans started pouring in.
He described Bub has “one of the nature’s happiest accidents,” and as the “most magical living force in the world.”
She lived a happy, healthy life despite her various health issues.
Mike added.

When Mike rescued Bub from a cat shelter in Indiana, he started a Tumblr blog for her. Her photos ended up on Reddit’s home page and after that she went viral.
She starred in many American TV shows, got advertisement and endorsement deals, did merchandize, and had her own inspiring documentary.
She earned about $700,000 which was used for animal charity for other cats with special needs.

Recently, she was diagnosed with a bone infection, and Mike was constantly sharing updates about it. In her eulogy he said, he had never expected that Bub would leave us so suddenly and abruptly as she died in her sleep on Sunday morning.
He said that Lil Bub’s life was about “spreading a message of determination, positivity, and perseverance to people all over the world.”
