How To Do A Pedicure At Home Naturally
Here are simple steps to give a pedicure at home to have a pair of beautiful feet that you won’t stop looking at:
- First of all, remove the old nail paint from your nails with nail paint remover and cotton pad.
- Then, clip your nails using a nail cutter without cutting corners too deep.
- Now, you should decide the shape of your foot nails before you file them. Do you want it square, pointed, or oval?
Once decided, file your nails. If you do not know how to file nails, use the nail file in back and forth motion across the tip of the nail to get your favorite shape. Don’t use much force otherwise, it will break the nails. - Fill up the tub with some lukewarm water and shampoo or crystals whatever you like. Epsom salt is the best way to give a pedicure at home naturally. It softens the skin and soothes any inflammation. It is also a great exfoliator. If you wish, you can also add a few drops of essential oil to calm the nerves of your feet. Pamper yourself all the way.
- Soak your feet in the tub and sit comfortably for 15-20 minutes. Utilize this time to read a magazine or listen to some music. You may even take a short nap. You are definitely going to fall asleep as it is so relaxing.
- Dry your feet with a clean towel.
- Put the cuticle cream on the base of your toenails and massage gently. Scrub your feet with a pumice stone to remove all the dry, dead skin. Don’t be so harsh on your skin or it will peel off.
- Remove the cuticle cream and push out the cuticles using a cuticle pusher. You are not supposed to cut your cuticles. It helps your nails grow. Wipe your feet once you are done with this step.
- Now comes the important step of exfoliation. Use a foot or face scrub to exfoliate the hard skin of your heels, soles, ankles, and sides of your feet.
If you do not have a srub at home, here is how to do a DIY scrub at home.
Things you will need:
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp oatmeal powder
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp olive oil
Mix the dry ingredients first and then lemon juice, honey, and olive oil in the same order.
The second last step is to moisturize your feet. Use a cold cream or coconut oil to moisturize your feet. Massage your ankles and calf muscles for 10 minutes. It will really be soothing for your nerves. Almond oil and olive oil are other alternatives for moisturizer.
Now your nails are all set to glam up with a nail paint of your choice. Give a pedicure at home and save big bucks that you would have spent at a salon.
