Apple Inc. has been the constant innovator of marketing gimmicks, and the latest was that where they said they will not give you a free charge anymore when you buy any model of iPhone from now on.
The reason that they gave was that they are “trying to cut down carbon emissions” but everyone knew that this excuse was complete baloney. Needless to say, other phone companies have come forward to troll Apple.
Samsung drew the first blood
First one to take the baton was Samsung when they posted this photo on their Facebook page. And they added this caption:

And then OnePlus, one of the biggest competitors to Apple
For those who don’t know, Even OnePlus had done something similar in their recent event.
Coming to the reason why Apple is avoiding the charger, online reports reveal that Apple wants to cut over 2 million metric tons of carbon emissions annually and become more environmentally friendly.
Real reason why Apple is not giving the charger anymore
While Apple said they are not giving the charger so that they can pack more phones in each shipment, cutting down the carbon emission during the transport.
They are still making the chargers and selling them on their website. And the chargers will be shipped separately. Which completely defeats the purpose they are claiming to aim for. People have realized that it is just another gimmick to avoid giving the charger for free so that you have to buy it separately.
But another valid question that has been raised is that if Apple really cares about the environment then why don’t they create phones that can be repaired instead of people having to buy a new one even after minor problems?
