A Bengali couple’s wedding menu card inspired by the design of the Aadhaar card is doing rounds on social media.
The pandemic has changed everyone’s life in every way. The digital world has become the real world and people have found new ways to live the new normal. Lockdown wedding being one of the entertaining parts of the pandemic has also seen a different kind of creativity. Many couples are opting for small family gatherings and intimate ceremonies rather than a lavish one. Virtual weddings are now very common, with near and dear ones joining in the celebrations through the zoom calls. This digital revolution has brought out the unique, creative, and quirky side of couples tying knots.
A couple from West Bengali became news for their interesting and unique wedding menu, which was inspired by the design of an Aadhaar card. The couple left social media users, as well as their guests in awe with their exceptional Aadhar, liked wedding menu card.
And It Got Viral!
Ever since someone posted their wedding menu card on Facebook it has been going viral on all social media platforms.
Speaking with media, the couple, Gogol Saha and Subarna Das, mentioned that they were quite excited and happy to see their wedding menu card being widely shared by people.
On being asked how did they come up with this unique menu card idea, Saha said, “It was my wife Subarna’s thought, and as we both support ‘Digital India’ what could have been a better way to show support than this?”
Is Aadhar Card Mandatory To Attend A Wedding?
Saha further said that their guests were surprised to see the menu card and some even wondered if Aadhaar card was made mandatory to even attend weddings these days. “Many even asked me if I left my Aadhaar card on the dining table, and this was extremely funny,” added Saha.
How Did The Aadhar-inspired Card Look?
On the top right, the name of the couple”Subarna weds Gogol,” was mentioned. It then stated a number of delicious starters that were served at the ceremony, such as a chicken lollipop, fried prawns, crispy baby corn, and coffee.
The menu further elaborated on the main course items. There was a Peas Kachuri, stuffed potatoes, fried fish, and Mutton Kasha along with fried rice. The accompaniments included salad, Kasundi (Bengali mustard sauce), Chatni, and Papad. The menu also featured some scrumptious desserts such as Sandesh, Rosogulla, and Ice Cream. There was also some Paan to wash it all down.
In place of the Aadhaar number, the digits read the wedding date of the couple, which was 1st February 2021. The menu also mentioned the name of the caterer in the Aadhaar card’s address section.
