Rajinikanth Discharged From Hospital; Blood Pressure Stable, Say Doctors

Rajinikanth had declared that on December 31 he would announce the launch date for his political party but the hospital’s advice of complete bed rest for a week has cast a shadow over his plans.

He was admitted to the hospital on December 25 with ‘severe hypertension and exhaustion. The Actor has now been discharged from Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. According to reports, the decision was taken due to the Tamil superstar’s improved medical condition.

Rajinikanth, who was admitted to the hospital following ‘severe blood pressure fluctuations’, has been advised complete bed rest for a week and minimal physical activity.

Rajnikanth’s Medical Bulletin

The full medical bulletin read, “Mr. Rajnikanth was admitted to the hospital on December 25, 2020, with severe hypertension and exhaustion. He was kept under close medical supervision and treated by a team of doctors. His blood pressure has been stabilized and he is feeling much better. In view of his improved medical condition, he is being discharged from the hospital today. In view of his post-transplant status, labile hypertension, and age the following advice has been given in addition to the medications and diet: Complete bed rest for one week with regular monitoring of blood pressure along with minimal physical activity. He has also been counselled to avoid any activity that increases the risk of contracting Covid-19.”

Rajnikanth’s Political Party Launch

Mr. Rajinikanth’s health concerns come days ahead of the planned launch of his political party. The new outfit is expected to play a major role in the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections scheduled for May 2021. His fellow actor, Kamal Haasan, has already launched the election campaign for his new party, the Makkal Needhi Maiam. Mr. Haasan had earlier expressed his willingness to work with his long-time colleague’s new outfit.

“Wishes for Rajinikanth’s speedy recovery,” the 66-year-old Mr. Haasan tweeted in Tamil on Christmas Day. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, E Palaniswami, too, spoke to the ailing actor on Saturday over the phone and wished him a quick recovery.
