8 Tips to Give Your Bedroom a New Look

Is the bedroom the most important room in your house? Well, there’s no correct way to answer that. Different needs, different importance, right? But what is significant is that the place we sleep brings the sense of rest and peace we hope from it. Decorating the bedroom may seem tricky, but not with these tips, which are just what you need as you plan to decorate or redecorate your home.

1. Patterns are in: They seem old-school, but here’s some news, old-school is back in fashion. So, be it the walls or the bedspreads, wherever it fits, include patterns to make the room look more attractive.

2. Plain walls are a big NO: Gone are the days when people wanted to see things as simple. It was a phase that has thankfully passed. Add some fun to the walls, in the form of print, decent wallpapers, or attaching lamps to it. Work it up!

3. Include “Me” space: It’s your bedroom after all, and it is incomplete without any “me space.” Ensure you have side tables that are a great storage space for your stuff where you can keep the stuff you need at night or first thing in the morning- books, glasses, night lamps, water- whatever you need!

4. Measure the Furniture: Furniture in any part of the house should not be a misfit, leave alone the bedroom. Whatever you buy or get made should fit perfectly in the bedroom, leaving you enough space to walk around.

5. The windows matter: Windows is that part of a room that people often tend to neglect. Why, though? Throw in a matching frame, get the double-layered or light-cutting curtains, and ensure they match with the walls, not the bedsheet! Additionally, choose the right type of windows that are convenient to open when you need to soak in some sunlight.

6. Light it up: One of the most annoying this we struggle with within our bedrooms is inaccurate lighting. When you redecorate, include different kinds of lighting for your different moods. In this manner, you feel like you’re comfortable in one place at all times.

7. Make it personal: The things that are important to you should be a part of your bedroom. If you are a fan of art, include it. Some other items you can use to make the space personal are photo frames, paintings, vases, flowers, etc.

8. Pastels and Neutrals with a pop of color- When it comes to the walls, even if you decide to have the patterns, the base color should still be a neutral or pastel one. Why? Because it contrasts beautifully with the pop of color that you can add with other decorative items plus the bedsheet and blankets.

You’re all set to create a space that’s cozy, comfortable, and the perfect getaway from the world. Envision your bedroom as the space that is just “YOU” or your “FAMILY,” far from the routine stress. That’s what makes it a bedroom, or else it is just a room where you sleep!
